i just scaned my first negative film, and the grain is big!

i know when u print it, it will not stick out like that, but mine question is...

do you scan your negatives (which in digital terms looks like a photo of 800 iso), or do you print your photos and then scan them....

because, lots of photos look like silk..:)

I scan negatives, slides and prints and all look good to me. I've even scanned negatives and slides and then made some very large prints, and the grain and sharpness are still very good.

I do both.

But when I want smaller grain, I'll use a bigger film: No film gives objectionable grain in a 16x20" print when the negative is 8x10" or larger.

BTW, I'm moving this thread now - to it's rightful place.
