For those who missed the other thread, a new chatroom is up. Unfortunately the last one did not work out so well. The new room is from the same makers of our old room but it is a new version (apparently re-written from the ground up). It seems to function well so far. To access the room go to the chatroom tab and on that page you can open the room or see who is in the room first before entering. Fingers crossed this one performs better. The chatroom situation has been a bit of a fiasco so thanks to all for your patience :)

To those that can't get in are you at work behind a firewall or are you running a firewall at home? first try two things:

1. update your java http://www.java.com
2. temporarily disable your firewall to see if you can connect

Failing that let me know. Thanks

Make sure Java is turned on in your browser for IE Tools/Internet Options/Advanced...

Mine was off and it would not allow access.

Sean,

I have the latest java version, I have disabled pop-blockers, have enabled cookies, tried with and without fire-wall, tried IE and Firefox,

all in vain!?

the former, "bad version" of the chatroom worked and the one before that, too.

But not this version!??

Folker,
Do your IE settings look like the JPG attached to this message?

I had some trouble as it turned out there were two versions of Java running so the update to the latest version could not be effected.

Exactly my experience, but updating Java solved it!

ok, just purchased an add-on module that apparently makes the chatroom usable behind firewalls and more. I'm not sure when they activate the module but it should resolve anyone's connection issues.. I'll post as soon as I know something
