Hello:

Robert White would not sell me a separate ArcaSwiss case for my 6x9 AS view camera so I bought a Smart instead. I can be mobile while stowing the entire AS kit and a Graphic View as well.

I think the case that my speed graphic lives in was made by the same company! Do you have any idea how old they are?

The Vulcanoid cases are the same vintage as the cameras afaik.

I wish that Volcanoid cases were still made, I would definately get some. I have three. Love them volcanoids!

I have three of them and I am always on the lookout for another one or two. I find they are a great way to haul around graphics with a couple of roll backs, filters and sheet film holders.

John,

What are you going to be using that Smart for, photographing close to home?

Hello:

The Smart makes photography further afield possible.

Ah... So you don't use another car?

Interesting choice of vehicle for large format photography. How do you find it?

Tom.

Hello:

It is a tough stable little car with enough space for overnight camping gear and a full camera kit. I find it excellent for long distance interstate trips - hanging with the diesel transports is a good idea - and for secondary road destinations. Snow to four cm is not a problem, six cm is, and there is no clearance for backcountry tracks.

It also treads lightly on the planet.

Yeah, the case is nice, Frank, but we're really impressed by your car! :)

My crown graphic came in one of these cases too, I tought it had been custom made !

I was not aware they had a cult following :D

I don't travel with it tho, I also have a small car (bigger than the smart) but there is the issue of the wife's belongings to fit in !
