I just completed a page at my web (http://tonopahpictures.0catch.com/JustusPortraits/Justus.html) site if you're interested in portraits with the Big camera. Voigtlander Heliar, Hermagis Eidoscope, Beach Multifocal, and Pinkham & Smith. Have a look and tell me what you liked, and of course, what you didn't.

Our own Jon Wilson and Matt Blais are there.

Well if you can make Matt look that good, what could you do for me? ;)

Great work Jim, thanks for shareing.

You say your personality is not suited to photographing people, but I think your portraits prove that being shy and retiring is perfectly suited to portraiture. Well done, Jim, these are lovely.

SUPER shots Jim...except for that OLD looking Wilson character.....couldn't you have made him look YOUNGER? ;)

P.S. Thank you. It was lots of fun and truly an honor being shot by you with your NEW V11.

What a wonderful group of portraits, they are fantastic!

I am an old stick in the mud, but I do like the results of the P&S! I am really impressed with your portrait (I use the word portrait here Jim because your images are in my mind are true portraits, not just pictures of people.) of Jon and the lens you chose for it. Best not leave that one laying around cause when I get to Tonapah I am going to try to steal it. Wow it delivers a great image. But I would bet the the work done by anyone else with the same lens would pale in comaprison to your own.

Keep em coming,

Hello Jim:

Thanks for posting your fine portraiture. It is wonderful and it lead me to your website which I have never visited before. I am pointing everyone I meet there to view your beautiful images.

Thank you very much.

Jim, I have to agree with Suzzane. Every portrait you made or showed us, is incredible. Someone said that a good portrait is one that makes you care for the person. You do that easily.
I am a landscape person but I would love to make portraits one day soon. Yours are inspiring!

Is that the Heliar I sold you?

What a bunch of nice folks! Thank you. Nope, the one you sold me would fit inside this one :) I bought it from Jos. Burke.

Oh ok, if that were my Heliar, I might want to have it back now that its a Galli signature item.

Love the work, keep it up Jim.

Superb serie. My favorite goes to Matt Blais, everything is on the spot.
