I found a vintage fluorescent fixture (two 24" tubes and a chromeplated reflector) and fished it out of the trash thinking I could use it for a UV box for my cyanotypery. I have no intention of using it for prints bigger than 6.5x8.5" at this time. Do you guys think two 24" UV tubes will be strong enough for alt process or should I stick with the sun?
Thanks!

I've been doing cyanotype (~15-30 mins exposure) & van dyke (~3-5 mins) with 2 black light fluorescent tubes. You have to put them fairly close to the paper, so even illumination might be a problem with bigger negatives, but I've had no issues with 4x5.

Home Depot sells 24" blacklight bulbs for probably $10 each (I have 48" bulbs that were $14.97. The chrome reflector will even their illuminaiton. You'll need to put it about 6 inches above your print.
