Has anyone used Polaroid 779 film? It's supposed to be an "improved" version of Polaroid 600, kind of like the consumer/pro dual product line of other film manufacturers. It's still available:
http://www.polaroid.com/shop/shop_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444176001 3&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302024397&bmUID=1183433220143&bmLocale=en_CA
And it sells for the same price as the 600. I'm just not entirely convinced it makes a big difference, but if anyone would care to comment, I'd like to know what they think.

Supposedly a variation of this is used in the SX70 Blend film replacement for TimeZero film. I have seen examples that were a bit cooler overall tone, with perhaps slightly more contrast than 600 film.

A neat alternative usage for this is cutting and pulling apart the print. Then you can wash and rub off the chemicals. This leaves a transparency with irregular edges. Further rubbing or scratching on the back can give other effects.

Ciao!
