View Full Version : Postcards Eric Rose 09-18-2003, 02:23 PM Yes it's been snowing here. Get ready for grumpy Eric! Suppose to get better by the weekend tho.
Hopefully will have a nice fall, but unfortunately we don't get the beautiful colors they do down east. fyi-I've updated the postcard list, thanks, Nige! frank 10-02-2003, 07:42 PM Just a note to let you guys and gals know I'm getting ready to print a new batch of postcards. Receiving postcards sure helps get me through our cold and long winter.
Frank (from a little north of Toronto) jnanian 10-02-2003, 10:29 PM hi folks -

-john fhovie 10-07-2003, 11:50 AM Two went out today - something old and something new Les McLean 10-14-2003, 04:25 AM The darkroom season is returning, I received 3 post cards in this mail this morning.
Nige, I like the image of the coastline and look forward to seeing more.
Frank H, Russian River looks to be a good location, I like the restful atmosphere that you've conveyed.
Silverpixel 5, The leaves are beautifully rendered and this is the sort of photograph I enkoy making.
I'll have to get into the darkroom in the next few days to make a batch. I'm at work for a few days more, so I haven't seen the latest arrivals.
I'm considering whether to make 4x5" contact prints or "enlarge" at 1:1, or seeing if I can reduce 5x7" to fit on a postcard.
Then again I might do Lith prints, if I can get 30-odd sheets exposed before Christmas. ;)
I'm also working (but slowly) on a batch of van Dykes... Silverpixels5 10-14-2003, 08:06 AM Glad you enjoyed the photo. I think you recieved yours before some people here in the states, as it usually takes 4-5 days to send my sister something in CA. :) fyi-list has been updated, thanks Nige Ailsa 01-07-2004, 10:25 AM It's new year, and therefore I feel it's an appropriate time to resurrect the postcard exchange, which sadly seems to have dried up in the past couple of months (and I'm as guilty as anyone of neglecting it).
Should all members aim to get a postcard out before the end of the month? What do you think? Ailsa,
Capital idea! I actually have some printed and just have not had the time to address and send them out. I will work on this this weekend.
lee\c Aggie, the postcard queen is on the job.. thanks Aggie, pretty good "stuff up" I'd say!
Ohh, and if anyone emails me and I don't respond straight away (withing a day), it's because I'm in the middle of changing email addy's and the APUG postcard one goes to my new one and I forget to check it regularly! David A. Goldfarb 01-07-2004, 05:42 PM Good idea. I should be doing some printing shortly and I'll try to squeeze a postcard in there. How many are we? Around 25 or 30 last I checked?
I think I need to make some sort of masking arrangement, so I can print these 4 to a sheet, just to speed up the process a bit. Anyone worked out a good system for this yet? Aggie 02-06-2004, 05:19 AM .. I'm on.
The most unusual... No, I'm not going to use 40 sheets of polaroid to make transfers, but... I'm on.

AARGH! I'm off again...
Leaving early tomorrow morning for 14 days offshore Denmark. Low prospects even for internet, no chance at all for darkroom...
 :o  Aggie 02-15-2004, 05:34 PM .. ohh Aggie... can't wait to see this :)
I'm having trouble coming up with something unique... might have to do a straight print of something semi-weird! Aggie 02-15-2004, 10:09 PM .. photomc 02-15-2004, 10:22 PM Cool, Aggie is send out autographed post cards..sounds like my house Aggie..there are paw prints on everything, including the humans in the house. May have to see if I have anything to print and sign up for this...do you just mail the photo post cards (ie - Ilford) or do most of you send them under seperate cover - to avoid the PO destruction? Aggie 02-15-2004, 10:26 PM .. David A. Goldfarb 02-23-2004, 03:20 PM Okay, I finally ran a batch of postcards this morning. They'll go out tomorrow. New postcards on the way to all on the list!
To simplify matters, all the information will only be printed here:

Time: Sometime during the spring of 1986 - probably around Easter.

The first time I printed out the labels they all said "Aggie" - so I figured something must be wrong ;) New postcards on the way to all on the list!

do you have the 77mm lens to match that 40mm? Never seen either but if I win the lotto, I'm going to buy a LX, 40mm and 77mm sight unseen :) |
