How many postcards do you guys have to print at a time in order to participate?

Neal, I usually do 3-5. Initially it was 15+ but when anyone doesn't return one, I don't send another... If you joined you'd get one from me, so hopefully you'd send one back. You could send one to Aggie, and you'll get one back... and away you go! Well that's the theory of it anyway!

I was at the local camera shop today and found a couple of boxes of Ilford Portfolio postcard stock so I picked them up.

I am looking forward to joining the postcard exchange if there is still any activity.

Thanks!

Jim

Jim, we're currently having a rehash of the postcard group... I've asked everyone to reconfirm their interest, so far about half have but I need to give them a few more days and maybe a follow up PM to check in case they didn't get the email.

One participant has suggested doing 'rounds' to formalise it a bit which might help involvement. I'll query everyone for opinions once the new list is finalised.

Nige.

Nige,
Please count me out for the time being. Life is just too short these days.

If we're having a recount, then count me in. I have half a batch that I didn't send out a while ago, but if we're recounting and there are fewer participants for the time being, then maybe I'll send them out, just to keep things moving.

hmm, seems my emailing has missed even more than I thought! David, when I get home tonight I'll check that I sent you a msg, otherwise I'll try again!

Include me to the list too. A bit late, but better than never. I sent you a PM, Nige. I won't be getting my order of postcard paper in until a few weeks, so we'll see.. Can we just send out 5x7? or 4x6 cutouts from 5x7?

People have sent out postcards as large as 5x7", but I'm fairly sure this exceeds the postal dimensions for a "postcard," meaning it will need to have a regular first-class stamp.

Nige;
I would like to suggest that you publish here a list of names that make up "the postcard list for December", prior to e-mailing addresses. Let everybody see that their name is on the most current list. Give a day or two to let people make additions of deletions then send the list with addresses as you normally do.

Right now I am uncomfortable about my inclusion: Am I On The Most Recent List?

Bruce, I understand what you mean..you can check the post card list via the web links from the menu at the top of the page..but I just checked to see if the list is current...it is, should have known Nige has been great to keep this going and WE DO APPRECIATE your efforts Nige.

OK everyone- heads up - my December postcard issue is in the mail - I already got one and am looking forward to the rest! Having dates, deadlines and opting in or out is really the way to do this I think - I would like to thank Nige for his efforts - Frank

Mine have also gone out the door (well the international ones have.. I didn't have any local stamps, must raid my wifes stash)

Bruce, I didn't have any emails bounce this time so I assume everyone got the email giving them the option to sit out the round. I didn't get any replies.

Here are the APUG handles of everyone in Round 1.

I've sent all mine today apart from the last three people on the list Nige sent (yes, even the other two Melbourne ones - sorry, Nige, as I think I also showed you that photo). Sorry to you last three people on the list, but I just didn't print enough cards, and will do them within the next few days.

Just out of interest, does anybody else in the postcard exchange occasionally print old stuff, or do you all strive to just print new things?

Ole

So far I have mostly printed old stuff. Most of my new stuff is on 13x18cm of 18x24cm film, which is difficult to fit on a postcard. I've printed MF and TF (=TinyFormat, 35mm) so far, may do a 9x12cm neg this time. Not new, but at least from this year.

Have most of em ready to go, should get some out today and will print the last this weekend and all should be out by next Monday. Since the darkroom is only 2 years old most of what I print is new so far. Since, Nige already has this one he gets a different one.

I try to print new ones but usually print a couple of extras in case someone joins the list and I can send something straight away. For this round sytem, I picked something I printed for our camera clubs B&W exhibition but didn't use, so it is a 1st showing... all 22 copies :)

Kevin, I'm looking forward to it!

My last three are out the door today, hopefully in time for the internationals to receive them by Chrissie.
I just bought a photo album to keep them all in.

Good point, Barrie. They ARE new to others indeed. My first is an old one, but I'll be aiming to do mainly new stuff from now on. Regards, Kevin (Essendon)
P.S. Didn't I meet you at a Tim Rudman workshop?
