The new names will appear on the list in the next few days.

I have sent my next batch today, although I'm not happy with them.. only realised I printed the wrong neg afterwards! I couldn't have been looking to closely.. I'm blaming my sons that were 'helping' me! Since I had used the postcard paper I decided to send anyway! Next one will be better!

I finally got around to sending out my second set of 2 postcards, including mrcallow. I found out (by asking at the post office) that it costs no more to mail an envelope than a postcard, so we could place a photograph in an envelope and mail it that way without having the image damaged and scuffed up. Or is it our group's intent to 'validate' the images on a postcard with postage markings?

Today I got mrcallow's postcard. The image raised emotions within me so it was successful in having something to say to me. Now, the emotion was an uncomfortable one, a psychological angst, but no one says that photos should only make you feel happy, so that's fine.

I have created images that are intended to raise an uncomfortable feeling, but for the most part the images I enjoy making for my personal photography are calming, soothing ones. This is in response, I guess, to my job and to life in general which do not contain enough of those qualities for my liking. I prefer things calm and comfortable.

Thank you, mrcallow.

p.s. How do I access the updated list of participants?

I got Franks today http://apug.org/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif I got some others (Brian, Les, & ?) the other day but haven't reported in.. Haven't remembered too when at home. I do think it's nice to hear that it got there. The mystery element of just what the pic is of is also good... for instance, Les's was nothing like I expected he'd send. Everyone prints differents too, there's no way I'd print something like your Snow/Dunes/? pic Frank... just not in my bag of tricks http://apug.org/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif Good to recieve things out of your own sphere.

I sort of like them having been stamped, barcoded, bent, etc. Not sure if our postal system aceepts an envelope for the same price but it means they aren't giving you a discount to just post the postcard! mongrals!

For recent additions to the list, whenever I get new names I add them to the list and post to Sean, who updates the Postcards secure page. I haven't checked recently, but it should be updated soon, when Sean gets to it (he's been a bit busy moving house I think)

Home at last - let's see if I can get some cards printed now!

I'm "Frankly" amazed at some of the cards - I thought I knew how to print snow!

hehe! I showed my wife Franks snow photo and she picked it as snow straight off... don't know why I thought it might have been snow or a desert http://apug.org/forum/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Just spent the night in the dark room printing post cards. Hope to have them mailed by the weekend. Boy this is actually fun. Ended up contact printing a 4x5 neg onto the emulsion side. Looks kinda cool.

Sean must be busy these days. I asked to be put on the list over a week ago. Also I uploaded a bunch of pics for the gallery sometime ago and they haven't been entered either. No worries, you have my address.

The list I got from the website had 10 people on it.

Thanks Eric, I'll add you to the list.

I got Les' card in the mail today. Well seen and perfectly executed!

It's right up my alley too - I have 2 older BMW motorcycles in my garage that I use for daily commute when the Canadian weather permits. During summer vacation I try to do a little touring as well. In fact one of the images on the second round of postcards was taken while on a motorcycle trip 2 years ago with a Rolleiflex TLR.

Les, was your card toned? The paper base looks creamier than the rest of the cards I have gotten.

Just got back from a week in the UK to find several lovely cards from Les, Frank, Nige, and JDC.

Frank definitely wins the prize for the best use of the barcode with his snow fence. Very clever!

No it was not toned the card was made from Ilford Warmtone and developed in Agfa Neutol WA.

I've had cards from Inge, Scott, Brian, Aggie, jdc, David and Frank thank you all, it's a great way of seeing what photographers in other parts of the world are doing as well as intoducing a more personal response to the forum. I'll make a new batch in due course when my darkroom is up and running after the move. Just a thought, are digital cards allowed? After reading Aggie's comments in the Why thread I'm almost afraid to ask the question.

Mail from Australia arrived today. How much more exciting can it get?
Nice flowers Nige, but isn't it printed a bit dark?

I was just thinking how much fun this postcard exchange is. While it would be easier and faster to post images on the APUG gallery site, being able to hold and look at the actual photograph is more than worth the effort. If we keep this up, and I hope we do, we will each have a nice collection of our work.
