Some of you may have used e6slidefilmprocessing.com for E-6 work. They called themselves Capital Color and did E-6 only. I used them several times. Went to use them a few months ago and saw this instead:

I was wondering if anyone knows why they closed up shop? I don't know who Mike is either. They *were* expensive, but they offered first class processing and mounting, so I'm wondering if it was price that did them in, or simply a matter of not enough E-6 business to stay afloat.

Love to hear the story, if anyone knows it.

I personally know Mike the owner of Capital Color.

The lack of E-6 business is why he closed.

Expensive is a relative term, for Mike provided a service to the DC area's top professional photographers. He provided the very best customer service around, with color accuracy that few labs could match. For that we all were willing to pay that little extra over his competition.

Mike said he would been happy to continue working as long as people need E6 service, but the professional market shifted so quickly to digital, that he knew it was time to retire.

He invested wisely, so don't worry, he and his family are cared for.

Thank you kindly, this clears it up. I was one who appreciated the top quality service he provided. Tell him a fan in Iowa wishes him a happy retirement! :)
