Has anyone ever tried this for any experiments - I think it's intended for HeNe laser exposure between 630 and 670 nm (red) wavelength.

I don't know if that just specifies the nominal spectral content of the laser or if the film is that narrow-spectrum.

I think I know one person who has used some variety of imagesetting film. I'll email him meanwhile.

sounds like imagesetting film. Red light lazer diode for exposing. in an imagesetter it if very high contrast. great for halftones and graphic arts. can't say what would happen in a regular camera.

Yes, as you said, and I think it's called hard dot recording film.

I'm hoping that since people are able to use various ortho films with altered development for continuous tone, this might be usable, for a certain look anyway.
