Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forums, which seem huge compared to the ones I've been reading and posting to until now. I see another Italian photographer like me has just joined the band, I hope we'll contribute to the good name of our homeland =)

I think a short introduction is due, so here I go.
I've been shooting for a couple of years now: I started with bw film and I'm staying analog as long as I can foresee. I study & work in IT so spending my free time shooting digital isn't very appealing to me. I prefer shutting myself in a dark and smelly room printing on costly silver-covered paper :D
My photography is, quite obviously, a reflection of my views and needs: I am naturally curious about people, but shy at the same time, so I ended up shooting street without even consciously choosing this. I occasionally shoot portraits, too, but I find posing people a though task (remember? I'm shy:p) so I mostly shoot candids.

You can find some of my photography on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/felinux) or on on my homepage (http://felinux.netsons.org/index.php?p=projects&lang=eng), which I'm still building in my spare time.

Welcome to the forum. I suspect that many of us here would love to be where you are in such beautiful country. Maybe we can rely on your expertise to advise those of us who wish to travel there? Thanks for joining in and I'd love to see some shots of the local town or city where you are.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I'll sure be happy to give directions and advice to anyone coming to Italy. I live near San Gimignano, which is a very common destination for tourists, and study in Pisa, the city of the leaning tower (which I think needs no introduction): so if you plan to come for a look do ask.

Un altro fotoavventuriero! Cos'è questa fuga di massa? ;)
Ovviamente scherzo... Benvenuto in questa banda di retrogradi...

Another foto-adventurer! What's this mass escape? ;)
Obviously I'm joking... welcome to this retrograde-band, and enjoy!

Welcome from Norway, too.

We decided this spring to bring the car the next time we visit Italy, since that makes it so much easier to bring all the cameras i think I may need. :)

Welcome from the Midlands of England. I like your Alps pictures. Unfortunately there are no Alps here. The closest is something called Alpen but its only a breakfast cereal!

The photography advice is much better than the jokes - you'll be gald to hear.

Welcome to apug. Piacere!
Exactly 10 years ago I had the pleasure of living in Firenze and teaching photography to American students. How time flies! (Tempus Fugit?)
Took a look at your flickr account. Very accomplished for the two years you've been working. Particularly liked your image "Underworld". Glad to see Tom Waits has fans in Italy too. Have a look at a few of my shots from that summer if you have time.
