I've carried my birding setup--tripod, Canon New F-1 with 600/4.5, strobe sometimes or another camera for non-bird shots--for over an hour on the subway each way out to Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Reserve from upper Manhattan. I also take my LF and other cameras on the train. Never had a problem.

Art,
Sorry but I will not be able to make it. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Someone mentioned a fire house. There is one just past the south street seaport on front street under the FDR drive.

...for over an hour on the subway each way ...Never had a problem. My son's buddy was mugged w/money exchanged the other day in Brooklyn.
Yes, TV programs are realism to me...and thats why I don't watch much television!

I think Alex got some great shots of us drinking at the bar! I have some snapshots I will try to post tomorrow. It will be a while until I get the real stuff up. Hope the other guys post some. - Jim

Oiy. I haven't picked up my trannies from the lab yet. I haven't had time. Next week. The good thing about outings like this is that you can stake out the next outing.

Regards, Art.

Thanks, George and Jim.

You got quite a blur effect going on with the picture, Jim.

My bar picture is still in latent state.
