Nick Neil Miller 09-19-2007, 05:04 AM Nick - you don't have to have the most expensive step wedges; for instance the Stouffer 21 step is cheaper than the the Stouffer wedges with more steps. The Agfa variety is cheaper still. Regards, Neil. Robert Hall 09-19-2007, 11:18 AM Not to mention that since most are done on film, they can degrade over time. I have found mine for cheaper than $20, some even as low as $5 US. davido 09-19-2007, 02:38 PM I got mine directly from Stouffer http://www.stouffer.net/Productlist.htm It was the most recommended model: T2115 at only $6 each. I bought half a dozen as they are easy to misplace. The calibrated models are much more expensive and more accurate but not really worth the money for most alt applications. david donbga 09-19-2007, 06:44 PM I sure could use one or two :) Hope I'm not rude in asking! Nick If you can't afford the step wedges then you can afford to test with them. nick mulder 09-19-2007, 08:36 PM I got mine directly from Stouffer http://www.stouffer.net/Productlist.htm It was the most recommended model: T2115 at only $6 each. I must have my wires crossed as I thought they were much more than that ... I understand i dont need the full on calibrated ones and was hoping that maybe someone who did had some they thought were no longer accurate/suitable enough for thier particular application ... at that cost i'll order some direct - yip, I understand that considering the processes i am working in that step wedges are a minimal most compared to the rest of the gear - asking here was done for two reasons ... I'm a little skint at the moment after having bought an 8x10 camera and a truck load of chems and the other reason being I realized i have so much stuff here that I no longer use that i have been passing on to others for little or no cost that maybe i could try a little reverse methodology - still though $6 ...no problem :) thanks all! nick |
