Does anyone recall if De Vere ever made a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 neg carrier to enlarge quarter plate negatives on a 5x4 enlarger? If yes (or even no) any other UK made enlargers that fit the bill?
Thanks
Anton
Thanks

Thanks Anton Mike Wilde 10-04-2007, 08:57 AM I make my own glassless carriers for the 'wierdy/oddball' sizes out of offcuts from matting with 4ply board, and then any critical areas get blackened with the aid of a sharpie marker. They seem to work just fine, although they never see heavy duty use. If it were heavy use I would lean to using masonite. waynecrider 10-04-2007, 02:02 PM 3x4 carriers are easily available in the 4x5 Omega line. Maybe check to see if your head will cover the cut out. If it does you can always bandsaw it to outside dimensions. You just don't want any light spill beyond the carriers borders. dancqu 10-04-2007, 07:27 PM ...the 'wierdy/oddball' sizes ... I just happen to have an Omega C 31/4x41/4 condenser enlarger. Not so weird/oddball. Very popular size during the 30s and 40s and maybe 50s. A VERY rare enlarger size on today's market. I bought it off eBay and would now like to be rid of it. Needs a restoration.
