The "Lenswork Ouch!!" thread has recently taken an OT turn, concerning photographic prints, the old content is king thing, and that a photograph posted on the web is equivalent to a print.

While I certainly wouldn't disagree that there is nothing worse than a sharp photograph of a fuzzy idea, I believe most persons free of financial or logistical encumberances would prefer a print to a URL, so I'll put a little bit of money where my mouth is.

This premise assumes you have some kind of affinity for my work. If it's not your cup of tea, then it's not for you. If you think this is a bit silly (Duh, it is, I'm having a little fun here) please keep poking to a minimum.

So, here is the deal.

This Sunday I will be taking the 8x10 out with the 14" Heliar, and making some negatives. I will select what is in my opinion the best one, and make prints, as well as a scan of the negative. That's all the info about the image that will be provided.

The first ten responders to indicate a preference, and PM me will receive a 8x10 contact print free of charge (I will even pick up the postage), or if indicated, a URL to view the scan instead.

Choose and perish.

Me please

PM contained the Contact print free :D If I get it make it a good'un as it would go on the wall alongside the likes of Robert Doisneau, John Blakemore, Fay Godwin, Jorge (some may remember him, some are still in contact) etc.

Print and PM sent. Now if you'd offered a grainy blocked up 10 shades of greasy ink half tone I would have most definitely chosen the

print.

um... I'll pay the postage???
That'll teach me to do yardwork on a Saturday!

Seriously, besides the photographer's affinity for free stuff, the response does say a lot about what we value. Let's see... how many was that for URLs? :D

Cheers, (and congrats to the fast typists)
