Ian Grant 11-07-2007, 08:13 AM Just one thing, aren't they polarising filters ? Use 2 linear polarising filters and you can do the same thing, but you might not want the polarising effect. Ian David A. Goldfarb 11-07-2007, 08:28 AM Yeah, that's what it looks like to me. You might also not want to add four air-glass surfaces in front of your lens. You could carry two ND filters to cover a lot of situations. Steve Smith 11-07-2007, 08:33 AM Just one thing, aren't they polarising filters ? That's what I thought. I think this line from the web page confirms it: The Vari-ND can be used with most other Singh-Ray filters except Polarizers Use 2 linear polarising filters and you can do the same thing, but you might not want the polarising effect. I remember doing this at school with two sheets of polariser. Add overlapping strips of clear sticky tape to create interesting colour effects. http://www.physics.utoledo.edu/~lsa/_color/34_polarize.htm using pieces of polyester film instead of tape Steve. |
