Any solution? If you're talking about what I think you are (ie the flat-faced cover on the very top of the advance lever) that has an anti-clockwise thread on the ME & Super and I would guess it does on the MX as well, hence possibly your problem. Now that the tension is off it, could you undo the threaded section (clockwise) with a needle or similar? Beware that again if it's like the ME the threaded collar with two slots that you can probably now see is also anti-clock threaded should you need to remove it. Good luck! Steve Sandeha Lynch 11-22-2007, 12:28 PM Sadly I once did the same to my own MX. This is a reverse thread and unscrews clockwise. I contacted one official Pentax repair shop, but they had no spare parts. Solution ... find a broken donor body on eBay that still has the part. Mike Kennedy 11-22-2007, 01:22 PM You're right Sandeha, reverse threads. My fault.I had been working on 3 different cameras and flamed the MX. I've fixed the problem with old motor cycle engines (tap & die set) but never with something sooooo small. I'm thinking of buying a product called J-P Weld.I need something to secure that cover to my film advance lever. |
