Hi Folks,
I will be showing and discussing the many, many prints I have received from various print exchanges I have participated in. The showing will be on Thursday, December 6 at the monthly meeting of the Photo Arts Collective - http://www.photoartscollective.org/ - at the Kehler Liddell Gallery - http://www.kehlerliddell.com/ - at 7pm.
Ale and tale to follow, as usual.
If you are a member of Arts Council of Greater New Haven and the collective, please come out and look at all the prints and postcards exchanged.
Regards, Art.

Hi Folks,
Gave my presentation at the PAC. Lined up all of the prints I received on chairs as tables were lacking. Gave folks a brief on the various types of exchanges that are out there, exchange etiquette and logistics, and where to sign up - APUG being prominent in my talk, of course, but other sites too. I even got a couple prints out of the talk! Yeah. Anyway, I think I hit a nerve with some folks about print exchanges. I know there's another discussion about the 'world of photography ala flickr and digital', which is adjunct to people's thoughts that touching and feeling a print made traditionally or semi-traditionally (I hate the word hybrid) is so much more a connection with the sending photographer than just seeing their image on a website.
Giving this presentation made me realize what a commitment I have made over the years to these exchanges. I'm talking hundreds of prints and postcards that I have exchanged and the entire 'event' has enriched my enthusiasm for my hobby, deadbeats notwithstanding. So, I encourage folks to participate in the next rounds and hopefully, you will find it as inspirational and rewarding as I have and will continue.
Regards, Art.
Art, sounds like your group showed more enthusiasm than when I showed mine (and the traveling portfolio) at camera club.
Cheers, Nige
