I would like to publicly announce that I will no longer call myself a photographer, but henceforth would like to be referred to as a 'Turnip'. My reasoning is this:

I create editions of photographs, fifteen in number to be exact. But the thing that sets me apart is that any of these fifteen prints may be different sizes and even different processes. I have single images that are printed in silver gelatin, palladium, gumover palladium and even agyrotype from time to time. I feel this working methodology not only makes me a unique and valuable addition to the known cosmos, but is also something that no one has ever thought about before: Imagine, being so curious and experimental, that one feels comfortable doing pretty much any damn thing when it comes to making a print. That's me, baby.

The only trouble is that I originally wanted to be called an artist, but unfortunately that term has apparently been taken. A little googling has led me to believe that no one has appropriated the word 'Turnip' to describe their profession, so I hearby declare this to be my title, and that it is mine alone. If you want to do something different, find your own word. Turnip is taken. By me. Any questions?

And, of course, no one can squeeze blood out of a turnip, so you are safe from that fate.

Well, these folks may think they are turnips. But I am the turnip, because I am the only person doing things exactly the way that I do them. Sort of tautological, sure, but still.

There are real turnips and false turnips. The folks in MI are clearly the real thing - they've got a web site and everything - so you must be a false turnip. Read what I wrote then get back to me!

I've got a big pot au feu on the stove right now. It's got veal bones, a corned beef and a chicken so far, and the turnips and other vegetables and some sausages should be going into the pot in about an hour and a half. I hope the turnips get along well with each other and the other things in the pot.

And I have already stamped the back of the mat boards with my exclusive 'Created by Clay, Turnip' ideogram. I can't afford to recall all those things. Is there another thing that looks like a turnip, but has another name? This may really screw up the nationwide marketing roll-out I had planned.

Clay your are the best this is so funny...sure glad I did not have a mouth full of coffee!! My monitor couldn't take another cleaning!!

However, if you had call yourself Mistletoe it might have been more intereting as people would try to erradicate you all year - except for the holidays when they would hang you up and kiss underneath you. And if I might suggest making your prints with an Etch-a-Sketch, then they would disapear when the buyer went to hang the art on the wall...or at least make plutonium prints, that would put an end to those art critics that have to get their nose up to a print to see if it is 'great' or not.

Turnip is taken. By me.And what an incredibly fine Turnipian sensibility you have. I predict a whole bushel of Turnip wannabes in no time at all. But alas, in your shadow they will never amount to anything more than Radishes... or at the very most, Beets.
