| View Full Version : Postcard Exchange Round 13 - Results, Feedback and more rst 02-09-2008, 11:42 AM Thanks to Warren, I received two very nice cards from him yesterday. ciao -- Ruediger PVia 02-09-2008, 02:31 PM Yes, I recv'd Warren's photos yesterday. Very nice... Mine will be going out in the post on Monday! Buster6X6 02-09-2008, 02:56 PM Received Buster6x6s detailed image of a Barn Find. Lots of interesting detail. I wonder, how would that be if you made a really large print of the negative? Regards Birger A.I did. I used my Blad and 8X10 camera in the same session. I had to crop it but I did develop it in 8X10.There is more detail in the original. The lady in the post office said why don't you print it large I would buy something like that. Thanks for the comment. Greg BWKate 02-09-2008, 03:19 PM Oh man, I wish I was on Dietmar's list. The horse image is great! I have a fellow named photobizz on my list and the address is Iraq!!! Is he an American or Canadian soldier? AdamKap 02-09-2008, 03:29 PM Just got Warren's cards today. Real lovely shots. -Adam Pete H 02-09-2008, 04:13 PM The first two cards :) I received Buster6x6's barn image today. What great detail and the selenium toning is more effective than I can get with the Ilford postcards. Dietmar's Swiss horses also arrived. It looks like a very wide angle perspective and it works nicely! wazza 02-10-2008, 08:25 PM Received cards from Nanette ( love the timeless nature of the image) and Dietmar (beautiful image and composition) It is wonderful to be able to share our photographic passion with rest of the world. Regards Warren :) drpsilver 02-10-2008, 10:23 PM 10 Feb 2008 This round has started very quickly. My cards are addressed, labeled, and awaiting postage. Should go out Monday or Tuesday. Have received three cards. The infrared from Mike Widle is a reminder that all things change; our interests our subjects, our materials, ... The card from Buster6x6 reminds me of an old farm nearby that I have also photographed. Thanks to Warren Hinder for th photograph of the driftwood. Reminds me of Edward Weston at Point Lobos. Congratulations on getting your image selected for the World Heritage Landscape card. Regards, Darwin Mark Fisher 02-10-2008, 11:40 PM mine go out tomorrow. I printed them about 6 weeks ago so I don't have any excuse to not get them out early! I decided to print an image square and on cut down 5x7 paper.....I think I might stick to the 5x7 paper. It makes for a much nicer print. Let me know how it makes it through the mail rst 02-11-2008, 02:01 AM .....I think I might stick to the 5x7 paper. It makes for a much nicer print. Let me know how it makes it through the mailCompared to the 4x6, the 5x7 are no more or less worn out when they arrive at my door. I will send 4x6, but this time not the Ilford postcard paper. I will give the Rollei Vintage RC a try. ciao -- Ruediger kraker 02-11-2008, 04:47 AM Yesterday I decided on what to send out and made some test prints. I'm ready for a 'production run' now, all I need is a few hours in the darkroom to print my cards. BWKate 02-11-2008, 07:01 AM I just spent many hours in the darkroom this weekend and finished printing all my postcards! I decided on three different infrared images this round. Now I just have to write on them which will take awhile. Buster6X6 02-11-2008, 01:42 PM The fun begins. I received two cards. 1.Mike Wilde's HIE image of years gone by.What an interesting crop and perspective. 2. Dietmar Wolf's Horses at the pasture. Great perspective and mood.Well done. Thanks Greg mooseontheloose 02-11-2008, 02:14 PM Got my first card today from Warren (ozzie ozzie ozzie, oy! oy! oy!). This is my first round so I'm pretty excited to see what else comes through the mail. I have to admit that I haven't printed any postcards yet, because I'm still waiting for my paper to arrive from Silverprint (I'm all out! I can't even cut down larger sized paper...) I'm having difficulty choosing which negative(s) to print from, but I may do as others have mentioned, and draw from an HIE image. Luckily next week is a holiday, so I can spend as much time as I want in the darkroom. rachelle BWKate 02-11-2008, 06:33 PM I received my first postcard today! Wazza's or Warren Hinder's card and postcard arrived from Australia! That is incredible that it took so little time to reach me on the west coast of Canada. Unbelievable. On my first round I mailed all of mine in envelopes too! Love the image of the tree root and the Heritage Landscape Image of the tree. Thanks! ozphoto 02-11-2008, 06:52 PM Mike Wilde's card has arrived Down Under - love the HIE image and the fact it was printed on one of my favorite papers: Agfa Potriga Rapid! Looking forward to more gems in the mail. Pete H 02-12-2008, 08:19 AM I received Mike Wilde's card yesterday. Old time paper with an old time image. Very nice! My cards went into the post today. Pete H 02-12-2008, 11:44 AM ... and today a card arrived from Warren Hinder with lucious wood and rock textures, and also hal9000's 'Kaufhaus Jonass', which has quite a vintage air with the printing style and the lack of cars, trams and people. Thanks both! AdamKap 02-12-2008, 01:26 PM Got Peter's double print. Very cool how each print is on one side, so you can see a good portion of the other. Peter Schrager 02-12-2008, 02:05 PM Adam-it's a double exposure and it's just darn fun to see what you get....am planning an entire portfolio around this... Best, Peter kraker 02-12-2008, 03:13 PM Round 13 has really started! First cards arrived yesterday, from Warren Hinder, a very nice and subtle print, and hey, a real postcard in addition. I had to look twice before I realised that was also Warrens work. Well done! More cards today, one from Peter S on Postcard Paper that's not Ilford :p. A most intriguing double exposure. Planned or by accident?... (You don't have to answer that, that's the secret of the artist ;) .) The other card for today... some people have said it... after a few rounds, you can sometimes guess who sent the card without looking at the back. "Hm, this one could very well be from Greg", turn around, and yes, it's a Buster6x6. A beauty. Goes right next to Todd's gas can. Akki14 02-12-2008, 06:34 PM I received Warren's postcards last week and Mike Wilde's as well. Today Peter S's postcard showed up :) Still working hard on printing mine. Gradually getting there, I'm up to addressing them as I go along. tim_walls 02-12-2008, 07:21 PM Good Lord, this round is moving fast :o. I've received some lovely cards already; I've not even begun to start yet :(. Fear not, I will get all my done and dusted - it may be towards the end of the month though! I'm currently waiting for two things; a new bulb to arrive for my safelight, and payday to arrive so I can buy some more paper :) Buster6X6 02-12-2008, 10:51 PM Thanks Kraker for your very kind words. Greg Black Dog 02-13-2008, 06:14 PM I've sent out about 30 cards so far and recieved 4-will comment on them when I can remember find the copy of View camera they're shut inside:p |
