View Full Version : APUG dinners/social activities at foto3? Any interest? I would like to start planning (or get some help planning) APUG social gatherings after conference hours. At the last conference we often went out for meals or to local pubs. Is there anyone in the area that could help me pick a few spots suitable? I suppose a large pub that serves food would do the trick..
Thanks,

You had me at "Hello"! Dave Miller 02-11-2008, 12:56 PM How about my local, the Dog and Duck? :p Brian Gatien 02-11-2008, 02:13 PM There will be two from northern Ontario eager to join any social activities/dinners; just don't ask for coherent recitations after the second bottle of wine.

Brunner waggin' his bacon and sneezing on beer glass would be the only thing. Cheryl Jacobs 02-11-2008, 06:25 PM Hey, all -
Trying to get back into things after a destination wedding and two bouts of pneumonia..... (ugh.)
My band is looking for a Ft Collins venue to play during the conference, so maybe we can build that into some sort of get together. Or I can at least post here where we'll be playing. I'm not familiar with Ft Collins live music venues, so it's taking a bit of research to come up with a place that will work. If anyone has suggestions, let me know!
- CJ Nicole 02-11-2008, 06:39 PM Count me in for the social gatherings, dinners and in great company. With a bit of luck my DH might be able to join us. Hey looks like we've got a few already, I know Bill and Les would likely be there as well. I'll try to roundup some possible venues soon and I welcome any suggestions.. :) Travis Nunn 02-11-2008, 09:57 PM I'm in Ted Harris 02-11-2008, 10:01 PM Cheryl, remember long ago I mentioned my son, who plays rock and blues lives in Ft. Collins and has a nice sound studio, etc. in his house could/would help out?
I just sent an email to both of you so you can start doing some planning. Cheryl Jacobs 02-11-2008, 10:10 PM Hey, thanks, Ted! I just replied to both of you.
- CJ Les McLean 02-12-2008, 11:15 AM Sean I'm in too and would also enjoy having a little session as a guest guitarist in any live music event. Speak nicely to Carnie and I think he'd be happy to do a bit of blues shouting :p colrehogan 02-12-2008, 11:22 AM I would be interested in coming. Valerie 02-12-2008, 11:42 AM Mr. Valerie and I will be there! David Brown 02-12-2008, 11:50 AM Count me in for the social gatherings, dinners and in great company. With a bit of luck my DH might be able to join us.
You have a designated hitter?
(Sorry. American baseball reference - couldn't resist.) ;) JBrunner 02-12-2008, 12:12 PM You have a designated hitter?

I was wondering about that too, and couldn't figure out how baseball fit in to things... How's their RBI? Cheryl Jacobs 02-12-2008, 01:53 PM OK, Les and Carnie are both in as guest musicians! Put 'em to work, I say. ;)

That alone is worth a trip half-way across the world :D SuzanneR 02-12-2008, 02:57 PM Sounds fun... I'm in, guess it's time to sign up for the weekend. And Nicole, if your designated hitter doesn't make it, I'll be your date... I'll likely be without mine, too!! :p
And yeah... Les and Carnie playing blues together.. certainly worth the trip from the east coast!! Cheryl Jacobs 02-12-2008, 07:06 PM That alone is worth a trip half-way across the world :D
See, now, that's what I think, too! We'll gladly pass the mic and an amp to anyone who wants to get in on the action. We're working on finding a venue now -- could be a ton of fun.
- CJ Nicole 02-13-2008, 05:10 AM I'll be very happy to listen to everyone else's wonderful pipes. Sounds like fun!! DH = designated hitter??? OK, I'll need some cultural education when I hit Fort Collins. :D jgjbowen 02-13-2008, 05:25 AM So what does DH mean to an Ausie? Damn Husband? :-) |
