Hi everyone!
Stoked I found this comunity, I've been searching for an active 'traditional photography' group for quite a while now.
Ahh... I'm basically a beginner, shooting on a 1973 Pentax K2 SLR, and a couple of plastic toy Lomo's.
I've recently started dabbling in develloping my own B&W film in my tiny cramped bathroom.
I cant seem to get any luck with colour film though, with about 95% of my shots being quite grainy.
Um... I'm mainly interested in artistic photojournalism. I draw alot of inspiration from the www.oculi.com.au collective (my aunt's a founding member)and other Sydney Photojournalists like Trent Parkes, Dean Sewel, Andrew Quilty, Lisa Wiltse, etc etc.

Some of my B&W pictures from a recent trip to adelaide for a mountain biking competition are here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/21349178@N08/sets/72157603303785806/show/

Isn't the middle of England extreemly cold at the moment? Rather than warm?:p
Thanks for the welcome everyone... Lots of great info on here!

Hi Nathan,
Hello from another rowdy crowder. I still think we are probably a bit under-represented for a city of over 4 million but spread the word and look forward to your contributions. Had a look at your site and some striking and creative photos there. Interesting design on those seat-less bikes - no doubt for easy access to the ground for the legs and to protect the family jewels on such terrain?

Hello from the Isle of Wight.

Don't worry about colour film, it's just a passing craze. Like radios and telephones. It will never catch on.

Steve.

Welcome from France! I'm sure you'll find that you'll become addicted to this site (I know I sure am!). Lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here (I'm of the former, and maybe not so much the latter;-) ).

Welcome from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, where it's much cooler than it is in Sydney (but it is above freezing today at least).

Nathan... welcome to APUG from western Massachusetts USA. Right now it's snowing outside, so it's a little cooler than Sydney at the moment. :D

Checking in from Rowdy Brisbane! Although after just watching the second cricket final, we Aussies may be a little less rowdy for a few days ... :(

I went and saw Trent Parke's "Minutes to midnight A/V" show a couple of years back when I was living in Sydney. Awesome stuff and he and his partner Natalie seemed extremely down to earth and quite funny.

Enjoy APUG, it gets in your blood!
