where in kentucky? MikeSeb 04-27-2008, 01:37 PM Welcome, JohnRichard, from another Kentuckian--by marriage, that is. We're in Prospect, an Oldham County bedroom community for Louisville. Where are you--and where are you, "Pyrogallol"? Chazzy 04-27-2008, 01:58 PM Welcome from northern Indiana. Are there any galleries in Lexington that show photography? I do get down there occasionally. Christopher Walrath 04-27-2008, 03:09 PM Howdy, John. My mom and grandparents were born in Loulvull (had to type it said right). Welcome, y'all. c6h6o3 04-27-2008, 04:05 PM Welcome, JohnRichard, from another Kentuckian--by marriage, that is. We're in Prospect, an Oldham County bedroom community for Louisville. I grew up in st. Matthews, off Shelbyville Rd. For a while I even lived in prospect, on rose island road. I'm in the Washington dc area now. Greg Davis 04-27-2008, 11:22 PM I miss Kentucky. I recently moved to Miami from Mt. Sterling, though my wife and I are from Nicholasville. There aren't any galleries that show photographs. I've been trying for years. Your best chance is the Art Depository in Nicholasville. They show the work of the photo students in the University of Kentucky. The galleries in Lexington seem to only show the paintings of Arturo Sandoval. Kevin Caulfield 04-27-2008, 11:33 PM Welcome from Melbourne, Australia. Uhner 04-28-2008, 03:46 AM Welcome to Apug John. Valerie 04-28-2008, 08:16 AM Welcome from Texas. jgcull 04-28-2008, 08:22 AM There are cameras in the hills of NC, too. Welcome!

If you pass through Louisville on your way down, stop and see the Paul Paletti Gallery at 720 East Market St. He has one of the finest collections in that part of the midwest. MikeSeb 04-28-2008, 01:58 PM I second the rec for Paul Paletti's gallery. He also hosts a gathering of local pros and amateurs on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm. I'm sure he'd approve of my extending his welcome.
Pyrogallol, I'm just east of Rose Island Rd, in Hillcrest on US 42 just inside the Oldham Co. line. JohnRichard 04-28-2008, 05:01 PM I am in sunny richmond kentucky. Finishing up my degree at EKU then I plan on getting another one in something... different.
I don't think there are any galleries in lexington. I may see if I can't get someone to post some photos, I know several artists around.....
thanks for the welcome! c6h6o3 04-28-2008, 05:23 PM I second the rec for Paul Paletti's gallery.
Go during the Gallery Hop on the 1st Friday of every month. Buncha photo party animals, for sure. Well worth a drive from Richmond. |
