Thanks. Nicole 05-03-2008, 11:10 AM David, I would love to see your exhibition! Your work is inspirational. If I can steel away from Toronto on that Thelma & Louise road trip that Suzanne and I had planned.... who knows if we'd even get there!!!
Congratulations David! billschwab 05-03-2008, 11:42 AM Congratulations David! How I would love to be able to see this one. I wish you the best of luck with the show!
Bill papagene 05-03-2008, 11:59 AM Congrats David!! It will be great to see your work in person.
I won't be able to make the opening reception, but I think we should have a NE-APUG trip to see your show.
Anybody up for this?
gene SuzanneR 05-03-2008, 12:16 PM Excellent... I am really looking forward to seeing this show!! I will try to make it to the opening!!
Edited to add.... if you look a little deeper into the DeCordova website, it looks like David will be giving a talk on May 31st at 3pm. That might make a fine excuse for a get together! :D prifti 05-03-2008, 09:11 PM Yes, May 31st I'll be giving a gallery talk, and if the weather and museum setting cooperate, I'll set up my dark tent and demonstrate the process...
FYI: I'll also be showing another 30 portraits at Gallery NAGA on Newbury Street in Boston in June. www.gallerynaga.com
It would be great to meet you! Thank you for your kind words about my work! papagene 05-03-2008, 09:35 PM WOOO HOOO!!! May 31 is a Saturday. Me thinks me can make it that day. Hey NE-APUG'ers, how about a day at the DeCordova to support David.
David - Mary Frey had a lot of nice things to say about your work when I last talked to her. I find your portraits quite riveting.
gene winger 05-03-2008, 11:34 PM After just a quick look through your website, I really hope I can make it up there during the exhibit. Incredible work. Sounds like a treat! Great venue for your work, David. The DeCordova is a wonderful place to visit - and they always have interesting shows. I'm going to try to be there for the 31st but if I can't I'll get in to see it on another day. Can't miss an opportunity like this! papagene 05-27-2008, 08:07 PM Bump!! gene SuzanneR 05-27-2008, 08:10 PM Yes.. Gene... I think I can go!! I missed the opening, but I would love to see David's talk!! I'll follow this thread. papagene 05-29-2008, 08:21 PM BUMP! :D
Just trying to keep this info out there and hoping for a good turnout of NE-APUGers. I'll be driving in from Springfield with that Gatsby character. ;)
gene SuzanneR 05-31-2008, 06:47 PM Great to see everyone, and thanks David... that was a great presentation!! Whiteymorange 05-31-2008, 07:16 PM Great, timeless work. Everyone around the area should see it. papagene 05-31-2008, 08:38 PM HEY!!!! No fair... you two had a much shorter drive home than I! ;) :D
David's work is quite beautiful and it was a real pleasure to meet him today. Thank you David for a wonderful afternoon.
If you are in the New England region, you can stop at the Decordova Museum to see this body of work, up until Aug 17th. David is also having another show in Boston at the Gallery NAGA (67 Newbury St, Boston) from June 6 - July 11. It's definitely worth the trip.
