Hi All,

Building on the Aesthetics forum, a new set of subforums have been created:

This is the initial set and we'll add to that as needed. We are keeping the topics broad at this stage and as always are open to feedback. Thanks to the members, council and mods who helped me produce the subforums.

Sean

Great work, Sean.

Unfortunately I won't be very active here the next couple of days; but if someone sees anything that should be moved I'll check in occasionally (I hope).

How about a Sunsets category? A LOLcat one?
Ok, I've got it. How about a Crap category, where one can post the photos (s)he hates the most,
so others can laugh at him/her and maybe even give constructive criticism...

I like Ari's idea, but I think but I think that I'll be reluctant to post...
Sean, street and journalism contemplates documentary? what about a essay or documentary category.

I think it would be good to change the title of the Journalism subforum to "Journalism and Documentary," since I think of those as being in the same family.

Photo essays are often documentary, but could be of any genre arguably. Some photo essays, for instance, are series of portraits, which may or may not exactly be documentary. I think a series of abstracts could constitute an essay without being documentary, if it made an argument of some sort.

Also, to get these forums off the ground, I've been hunting around for relevant threads and moving them into their respective forums.
