On the off-chance that someone knows how to repair a Spectra Combi II light meter -- mine has suddenly started behaving strangely. The "click stops" at the LO, MED and HI settings seem to no longer be operational -- the wheel just turns around and around without stopping and the meter readings are nonsense.

The meter is almost behaving as if the small metal tab in the centre (which allows you to set the film speed) is permanently "up", even though it isn't.

Anyone have a clue how to fix this?

No, but I do have one for parts, if you need it.

Erie, I have a feeling that I'm also going to have one for parts soon, unfortunately.

Jordan, if I remember (been a long while) the detents are by spring pressure, and quite likely the nut that holds the "sandwich" together has come loose, I found that every decade or so, I needed to tighten the nut on the Sekonic (or is it a Norwood) Studio Master Meter that I have, let me know if you need the parts one I have if you dig into it.

Erie, that makes sense. I just have to figure out a way to get underneath that sandwich. It's not obvious how to do that.

It might be time to start a last man standing club for those that still work. Mine reached the ultimate stage of parts doner about 15 yrs ago.

Can anyone recommend a replacement for the Combi II? (inexpensive on the used market, doesn't take obscure batteries, both incident and reflective)

Jordan, two screws in the batery compartment, carefully lift off the metal plate in back, two outside small screws. front will come off of the meter with a little encouragement (two connectors that unplug as you pull out)
