An ad in the Sunday NYT caught my eye. Kodak is selling off an "over 2 million sqft industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution facility on 105 +/- acres."

It's described as an A+ facility, built by Kodak for Kodak and is fully air conditioned. The admitedly small photo seems to indicate that this site is not that old.

Just curious what these buildings used to be.

And if they are selling of 105 acres, how much will they have left?

Ed

PS: Just in case you're interested, the sale is July 31, 11:00 EDT and is a 'live and webcast auction.'

The only reference I can find there is to Kodak converting equipment. This is surplus slitting and spooling equipment for film or paper.

I think he means this (http://www.goindustry.com/en/saledetails.asp?SaleID=8667) auction. If you click on the "photo gallery (23)" link on the left, there are some more pics. Pic number 3 is a layout plan labeled "Lexington Commerce Center".

Ok, that was 605, no longer used but was a distribution point for film products and camera products. Due to the decrease in sales by about 90%, the building is no longer used. They use another building for current distribution off Mt. Read boulevard IIRC, not the one off Lexington. It was not a manufacturing area.

Remember that Kodak film and paper sales went from about 20B to 1B in less than 10 years. That means that something has to give.
