Will somebody please buy these...

3 Durst 5x7 enlargers for $500 (http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Durst-Laborator-5x7-Enlargers_W0QQitemZ280246286102QQihZ018QQcategoryZ 29985QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

This is the third time they have been up without any bids.

(I have nothing at all to do with this auction)

Yeah, that's the problem with NYC auctions like that. Who has room for one 5x7" enlarger, let alone three? I'm standing pat with my 4x5" D-II for now.

If others want to split this with me,
I will take one.

I'd love to have one, but where the heck would I put it?. My D4 barely makes it into the darkroom now and the ceiling is only a little higher than the 7ft. height of the enlarger itself. Bummer.

I'd love to share in it too, but I don't have space to fit one - my darkroom ceiling is only 6'.

Well?

No bids again.

So is anyone going to get these?

I said something to the wife about what fantastic item these would be to have at the house and was met with some rather overt "skepticism" as to their worth along with rather definite "suggestions" as to their final location should I purchase anything on that order.

Might not be a good idea.

I thought Sanders and a couple of others were going to pick these up?
I'm interested but was late to the party last time around. I'm in Jersey and can rent a truck. Split 3 ways is a pretty good deal.

Sanders? Anyone? Bueller?

They look great, but I'm set up with my venerable D-II and lots and lots of accessories.

If I had the money and time to pick one up, I would.

Damn it.

And I'm going into NYC next week (albeit, on the train). I can't spend $500, anyway.

If anyone is going to get one of these, PLEASE PM me. I have a huge favor to ask...

Basically, this is like the perfect enlarger for me. I love color, I use 35mm, and I plan to get into MF and LF eventually, only going to 4x5. The thing is, I do not have $500 is spend on anything right now. So, I would be asking that you would buy, and store, the enlarger for a few months for me...until I can spend money and pick it up. I can throw in a few rolls of Kodachrome 25 and Tech Pan right now, but that's about it. The only other thing I can offer is my thanks.

..and I just drove all the way to Lexington MA for ONE Durst 5x7-an older one-and paid $450 for it. Well well worth it by the way -especially if they keep making paper. Now the guy in Brooklyn-I know him. He's a great professional printer and I'm sure the equipment is top notch in every way.
But those LPLs are really sweet - they're the easiest to use enlarger of that size I've ever used.
So many enlargers-so little money and space and time to print.

I use the 4550 XLG and it is simply a joy to use.

The new cost is $3000

I'm greedy. I need to save my money.

Hopefully there is still one around when I have saved up some green.
