I think this year's Tour is going to be one that people remember for years.
They yellow jersey changing hands 3 times in 3 days, both Croix de Fer and l'Alpe d'Huez on the same stage, the long downhill finish 3 days ago in Italy, the performance of Andy Schleck...
It's been pretty exciting!

Most years I follow the Tour closely. This year, I've been put off by all the in-fighting between ASO and UCI and the fact they black-balled Astana, so only I'm giving the event scant attention, and none at the Tour's official website.
But, I am hoping to see Cadel win.

When I read the caption to the thread, I assumed you were talking about Ragbrai, the annual bike ride across Iowa which is also going on this week. It is also known as the TdF "Tour de Farms." What is this event with yellow jerseys? Does it involve bicycles?

Ragbrai is close, but I was talking about the Tour de France.
Actually, I know someone from work that went to Ragbrai this year. I hear Lance Armstrong rode it last year or so. And without Lycra shorts. How embarassing...

Us Brits had something to shout about this year with Mark Cavendish winning four stages. A future Green Jersey winner possibly?
But still far too much doping for the good of the sport.

I generally watch the tour, although I've been feeling pretty jaded after the doping antics of the past 2 years. Landis, Vinokourov, Rasmussen - all scum in my book. I've missed most of it this year as I'm travelling. My hotel in Hanoi has TV with 30 channels but the only sport we see is soccer, golf, tennis & badminton. Badminton is a big deal in this part of the world. Actually there is also an Australian network so I might see some rugby league this weekend. I do follow the stages at cyclingnews.com where they have live updates. I'm also hoping for a Cadel Evans win.

Me and my dad were working in Port Lincoln for the week, and while I dont usually follow it we caught the update every morning over breakfast in the hotel. Gunning for Cadel Evans, a little disappointed that the most coverage you seem to get here (on public TV anyway) is repeated replays of someone crashing.
Great showcase of the European countryside too.

Good tour for Mr Cavendish and should be even better in Bejing along with his team-mates. Note also Mr Froome in the tour - another good ride by a 'Brit'.
