View Full Version : Exhibition News Stoo Batchelor 07-31-2008, 05:42 PM Hi everyone.
I thought I would let you all know about a joint exhibition I am having with a good friend of mine, Michael Paynton. Michael is a medium format worker and shoots velvia, though prints his own stuff (for his sins) He is a landscape photographer and makes beautiful photographs, so it is a pleasure to share a space with him. His work can be seen here; www.momentoflight.co.uk
The exhibition is on at The Boxfield Gallery at Stevenage arts and Leisure centre.
Stevenage Leisure centre,
Lytton Way,
Stevenage,
Herts
SG1 1LZ
Tel 01438 242630
Info on how to get there can be found here;
http://www.stevenage-leisure.co.uk/CentrenbspLocator/StevenageArtsampLeisureCentre/tabid/345/Default.aspx
The exhibition is on from Friday the 8th August untill 7th September. There is a Private view on Thursday 7th August (wine and nibbles included). I will be there from 7.30pm. I have sent invites to APUGers who's addresses I have, though it would be good to see more of you on the night. Just mention APUG at the reception. It would be good to meet some of you.
Hope some of you can make it.

Stoo pentaxuser 07-31-2008, 06:22 PM Stoo No probs with the second site but I get a "not found" response for the first for Michael Paynton. Any ideas as to why?

Try that now P.U, and thanks for looking.
Stoo Dave Miller 08-01-2008, 02:02 AM I'm looking forward to seeing it. Martin Aislabie 08-01-2008, 08:20 AM Stoo, thanks for the info
Good luck with the exhibition
Martin pentaxuser 08-01-2008, 02:11 PM Not often that viewers get the chance these days to compare and contrast colour and B&W landscapes which this exhibition will give. I think that most who go in with the usual preconceived notion that only colour can do justice to landscape might leave, having formed a more balanced viewpoint. It's not that colour is inferior, it's simply that B&W is better than it is given credit for in this branch of photography
pentaxuser Mark Burley 08-05-2008, 04:10 AM Hi Stoo, both Norma and I are looking forward to your exhibition on Thursday evening - see you then.
Mark :) Good luck with it all Stoo. May many sales come your way ;) butterfly 08-06-2008, 07:22 AM Hi, not sure if I can make it Thursday but me and my son will definitely see it one day. We are only in Hertford!

Stoo Martin Aislabie 08-07-2008, 03:03 PM Stoo, could you bring your exhibition prints with you to the Oct meet and impress/disillusion the rest of us(me) with your fabulous work
The general standard of printing at the April meet really impressed me but you & Les were in a different league
Thanks
Martin Dave Miller 08-07-2008, 04:50 PM Having just returned from Stoo's exhibition I can report that it is first class. Well done Stoo and it was nice to see other APUGers there too. Mark Burley 08-07-2008, 06:21 PM Very nicely done Stoo. Your prints and exhibition were as excellent as ever.
I might winge about one or two - but to be honest the standard is so far above mine that I would be rather daft to even comment.
Great show, great prints - When's the next one...
You will have a tough time improving what you have already - except for the odd apostrophe or three ;)
Mark butterfly 08-09-2008, 03:18 PM I dashed in from the rain this afternoon to take a look Stoo. One word - brilliant! All of them. It wasn't until I got home I realised I had not left any comments in the visitors book, which was rude of me, so apologies. I will go back with my son next week anyway, and will leave you some comments then.
Anyone thinking of going - recommended!!

Steve Stoo Batchelor 08-10-2008, 08:08 AM Hello All
A big thank you to all that came on the opening night of my exhibition. I feel that the evening was a great success and felt very proud and honoured that there was such a large turnout, many travelling many miles to be there.

Hi Martin.
Of course I will gladly bring some of the prints along. That said, I am hoping that I don't have any left to bring :D
Thank you for your kind comments.
See you soon.

Hello Steve.
Thanks for the support and so glad I kept you dry :)
So glad you enjoyed the exhibition.
Best wishes
Stoo delphine 08-11-2008, 06:59 AM Ooops ... just saw this thread.
The exhibition was outstanding and the contrast of both BW and colour worked very well. Rosie and I had a fab time at the opening.
Well done, all your efforts to put this together did not go unnoticed. And incidentally, as I am reading the thread, I realise that I did not leave any comments in the visitors' book either :(
