View Full Version : "... Blue ..." movie Nicole 08-05-2008, 10:11 AM I'm taking a total stab in the dark here and hoping you can help me think of the movie I'm trying to remember....
There was a movie (I think it was in the 80's), not that naughty!... but it was called something Blue or Blue something and I remember seeing these big posters about the movie - of a young beautiful lady and all in blue tone.
Yikes, this seems like a stupid thread, but.... do you know which one I'm trying to think of? ehparis 08-05-2008, 10:16 AM Blue Lagoon with Brooke Shields? Nicole 08-05-2008, 10:19 AM Thank you, but no. I think she had short hair in the movie. isaacc7 08-05-2008, 10:20 AM Maybe Blue velvet?
Isaac Lee L 08-05-2008, 10:21 AM Nicole,
Here's a rather broad search on IMDB's movie database with lots of results that may contain what you're looking for:

I didn't look through all the results.

Off to take another look at Three Colours Blue with Juliette. Nicole 08-05-2008, 11:25 AM Mike you had it! It was Blue with Juliette Binoche. Thank you very much. Rolleiflexible 08-05-2008, 12:24 PM Blue with Juliette Binoche is iconic
and moving. So are the other two
films in Kieslowski's trilogy -- all
three are well worth seeing. TheFlyingCamera 08-05-2008, 12:40 PM And then there's Derek Jarman's Blue.
From Wikipedia:
The film was his last testament as a film-maker, and consists of a single shot of saturated blue colour filling the screen, as background to a soundtrack where Jarman's and some of his favourite actors' narration describes his life and vision.
Total running time: 79 minutes. gandolfi 08-05-2008, 01:07 PM I remember a film from the 80's with a huge poster of a (french) girl...(Beatrice Dalle)

Bleu was such a wrenchingly painful film to watch, that I could never bring myself to sit through White or Red from the trilogy. Granted, I was pregnant at the time so the hormones may have heightened the experience... perhaps, now... with some distance, I could try those two films... Will S 08-06-2008, 12:47 PM I'm a wimp... White is not at all as sad and has many funny parts. Though I suppose it depends on your sense of humor. Red ends sadly though.
My favorite Kieślowski is The Decalogue. Something any film buff should see. It has some very sad parts and some very funny parts. The first one is the saddest I think, so be prepared. wintoid 08-06-2008, 03:56 PM Are you sure it wasn't Betty Blue?
