Sounds like a great weekend.
I've always wanted to see Rambling Jack Elliott, and what I've heard of Kathleen Edwards has been very good.

August 9,
married 17 years to Dolly,
the nicest person I ever met.
She was just across the street when I was 18,
but I lived in seven states,
thirteen married to another woman,
before I met Dolly across the street.
30 years and 7 states to cross the street,
to marry the girl next door.

I had a nice weekend too - 15:10 flight to Oslo, meet up with my stepson, then "Porgy and Bess" in the new opera that night. Saturday back to the opera house for a meal in the restaurant there, 7 courses (with 7 wines) of continuous delight.:)
Then back home on the morning train on Sunday. :D

rained home early from a 2 week car camping trip to eastern Canada. So home on Thurs pm, not late Saturday per original plan.
Friday - do laundry, laundry, laundry, dry tents, ground sheets, tarps, and fold and put away all the camp gear. Spent a whack on groceries to restock the house, and got home and put it all away.
Saturday and Sunday - nothing to do, no one knew we were in town, and occasional showers and thunderstorms. Kids glued to the TV downstairs aftr a 2 week tv free experience.
Sit in the back room, read the papers, and backlog of magazines and used books we had hunted up in small town used bookstores along the way. One was even the 1974 edition of the BJP annual.

How did you enjoy the thunderstorm we arranged for you on Sunday? :)
Unfortunately I didn't go to the Folk Festival because we're in the throes of cottage renovations and I had a pile of marking to do (I teach at the University of Regina business school part-time in addition to my full-time job), but I heard it was really good. I really need to make time to go to it some year.
