Traditional Photography

I vote for Traditional Photography. Since to limit it to silver would eliminate all color photographers. Traditional photography would encompass all alternative processes since some of them predate silver.

I like the name Traditional Photography... but the only thing bad about it is that the digital advocates could say that there is nothing non-traditional about the WAY they take their pictures, but rather their process in producing the final product. Just a thought...

Conventional Photography! (The insight into traditional and alternative processes)

Phill, only one problem with "Conventional Photography" I can see... it won't be for long! ;)

Whatever it is, it needs to be snappy and not too much of a mouthful!

I liked "Traditional Photography" but I can always change my mind :) It's a bit 'boring'... Maybe something like "PhotoLudites - the APUG Quarterly of Traditional Photography" (replace "PhotoLudites" with something suitable and snappy.. I can't think of anything!)

And Brian, you got a laugh out of me!

Non-digital photography

Traditional photography makes it sound as if the vision could be boring and will exclude many.

"The looking glass" Does the title need to make obvious sense?

"Lens travels"

"Photographs too good for words" Will the record company sue?-)

"Looking Glass" is a photo store in Berkeley.

I like something with "wet" in it, which pretty-well covers all non-digital media. Or "toxic" :)

ok, can I change my vote to toxic process quarterly? LOL. So far my real favorite is negative space.

Ugh. Turn the pretension knob to 11.

Too much talk about titles anyway, and near-nil about content.

Anything with the word "Negative" in it may seem to rule out slide film. Likewise "silver" may rule out some processes that will be of interest. I don't like "Non-digital" either - *we* were here first, dammit! :-)

Out of those mentioned, "Traditional Photography" sounds about the best, but how about a strap line (similar to B&WP's "Any colour as long as it's black (or white)") to spice it up a bit... ...something like "Tales from the Dark Slide" or "We like it wet!"

Frank,
I, too, was thinking about the tag line after the magazine title. I was thinking more like, "Death before Digital."

I should add, for those not familiar with "American Culture", that "Death before Disco" was a popular phrase on tee-shirts when disco music began to dominate radio playlists at the expense of rock music in the Seventies.

Well, my earlier suggestion was just:

WET
