I ordered a digital timer for my enlarger on ebay. It came in but it has this plug that is not a standard three prong plug. I posted a picture here:
(it reminds me of a computer cable that requires a cable with a male connector). Here is a picture:

how do I find such a plug? Where can I order it?

Standard computer/monitor type plug. Any computer store/repair shop has tons of them lying around.

On second thought -- usually I see that shape as the male end, not the female end -- but I would still check with a computer repair shop.

I see something there (http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=177448&)that appears to adapt from what you have to a more conventional receptacle.

What you have is the female side of an IEC 320 cord set. a computer store is the right idea. you dont see them much any more . so it you have a computer suplus store that would be a good place to start.

Is the timer compatable to your electricity? Then I would think the inlet should be too.

Most devices are like this now.

Some computers have both a male and a female plug on the power supplys. The idea was that you plug the computer into the wall, then another cable went from the PC power supply to the monitor. This required a male-female cable, and these cables should be pretty easy to find. -my point being that if you cannot find the exact cable you need, you can make one using 1 standard cable and 1 male-female cable.

Davesw, close...but the other end the "standard" end has to be male too. hmmm I feel some re-wiring and splicing is in my future.

It is the female vesion of the plug because it is energized with out the cord pluged in. in otherwords it goes to the enlarger.so if it had male prongs on it it would not be safe.

hmm but my enlarger all has female connectors. So its like I need standard wall outlet 3 prong one end. then the reverse-monitor cable other end. hmmmm i called my local computer surplus store and he says they have them...but I dont think its the exact kind I need. hmm

actually that cable Davesw will work, I was mistaken the enlarger has three prongs (like a standard outlet -male) on it. So that one that goes from that funky reverse monitor connector to standard wall connector -female will work. Thanks for finding it :)

The picture Shane includes shows what looks like a power cord permanently in place. The cord in question may be the connection to the enlarger and this timer may be enlarger specific. Or not.

I think that last cable posted by daveSW will work.
