Just a heads-up for anyone else who is waiting - my Ilford special order arrived today, by way of Badger Graphic. I had 6.5x8.5, 7x11 and 7x17 in my order this year, and they all arrived together. Very fresh stock, too - all dated 2011.

Many thanks once more to Simon and his Harman colleagues for going the extra mile to provide this special service!

In Canada so far we have received only the 4x10 FP4.

But 4x10 is about 10x25 in metric!

Your point?

As an aside, whether you use imperial or metric measures, please please please label them. in., " inch/' ft. feet, or centimeters cm millimeters or mm.

Let's remember that hundreds of millions of people use one system over the other and vice versa and that it is very easy to misconstrue one unit for another.

My 12x20 HP5 arrived last week from The View Camera Store.

Well, I'm a bit disappointed, I have to say. I just got a refund check from The View Camera Store for the 10 boxes of FP4+ in 2.25x3.25" that I ordered with a note stating that "The Ilford warehouse informs us that all special orders have been shipped and there is no 2-1/4x3-1/4 film available." Thanks to Fred Newman for trying.

Simon, any chance we can get this on the schedule for the next time around?

Dear David,

Absolutely, I am happy to put in on the list, I was not aware we had received ANY orders otherwise in line with our ( stated ) policy we would have made it, I will have a look at what went on

Thanks Simon. You can ask Fred Newman for the details from his end. A few of us were interested in FP4+ in this size, and Fred inquired and got a SKU, so a couple of us who had placed orders announced it in places like the LF Forum and graflex.org. I don't know if that brought in any more orders, but I suspect that if it were on the schedule up front so that all the participating distributors had it on the list, the market would emerge.

I'm sure there are a lot more 2x3" press cameras and baby Linhofs out there than 7x11" and 4x10" cameras. Since I've been shooting the 2x3" Technika, I've settled into a routine where I like a 400-speed rollfilm like Delta 400 or Tri-X for handheld shooting with rangefinder focusing, and a slow-medium speed sheet film for view-camera style shooting on a tripod with groundglass focusing and the option of individual development control for each sheet. For now, that's been mostly Efke PL100, but it would be great to have FP4+ in that format.

I would guess the biggest problem with the 2x3 format is you have to order many more sheets to make up the same area than you would in any of the ultra large formats. I looked into ordering HP5 or FP4 for my miniature speed but it is hard to justify twice the cost of Efke when you're just learning but given the choices in the format I think I am going to have to start ordering the Ilford products as I've heard many bad things about the QC of Efke and Foma (I haven't experienced them just heard about them which is why I'm trying it out). It would be great if we could build the market up enough to make it a regularly scheduled product and drop the price a little bit.

Any news about 8x20 Films? I put my order on Viewcamera Store, but at the moment I didn't receive nothing and my order is always in processing.
Best
