I'm planning an informal group of film photographers in the Kings Lynn area. We would meet occasionally, probably monthly, to look at prints etc. in a local pub. Weather permitting I'm also planning a couple of days out. I plan on starting in november

Anybody here interested?

I'd make the trip, maybe not monthly but would definitely attend often

Rob,

I'd echo Phill, but add that I'm more interested in more substantial gatherings (e.g. a half day / afternoon etc.), considering travel times etc.

Tom.

Or there's always the amalgamation of the East Anglian and West Norfolk APUG?

Mid-Suffolk...now that could be an idea...

Perhaps you could just start up a Suffolk Suffolk group, inviting people from the wider Suffolk areas? :)

As a relatively recent incomer to this area from the 'Far North' i.e. Scotland, I'd be delighted to meet other photographers from 'the wider Suffolk areas'. It feels pretty isolated down here, hence the forum membership!

This thread doesn't exactly get away from cliches about East Anglian provincialism. More seriously, I'd be interested to hear ideas about how to implement a group.

I'd be interested in either (or both) this and an East Anglian group. I'm near Fakenham.

Hi All
I am planning to start the first get-together on Saturday 22nd November 2008. The venue will be decided when I know how many people are interested, but it will almost certainly be a pub in the Kings Lynn area from lunch time onwards. The general idea is chat, but feel free to bring a few prints, problems or gadgets for informal discussion.

Let me know if you're interested

Rob

The first meeting of the West Norfolk Film Users will be meeting on Saturday 22nd November at The Swan Inn, Nursery Lane, South Wootton, Kings Lynn, (see link below) from about 12:00 onwards. The pub does excellent real ales and good food. It may be a good idea to book if you want a full meal as it's quite a popular place Tel:01553 672084. Bring a few prints, problems or gadgets to chat about, or just come to be sociable!

Hi Rob.

Just seen this thread. As a newbie to APUG, I'm not really sure of the 'etiquette' but I might be in the vicinity on Sunday (taking shots of rock formations in Hunstanton, perhaps). Is it an 'everyone welcome' function or by invitation only? If I do arrive, I'll be the big lad in the Leica shirt (not that I have a Leica anymore - just that it's unlikely anyone else will be wearing one). If I'm not able to make it, I do hope there are others lined up as I live in Essex and it's always good to find kindred spirits - especially over a pie and a pint...!

All the best. Paul.

Hi Paul
There isn't really any etiquette. Anyone's welcome - the only requirement is an interest in film photography. Just come and meet people, eat pies, drink beer(or whatever) look at a few prints, gear etc. I've no idea how many will turn up yet, but about 8 people have expressed definite interest.

Look forward to meeting you

Rob
