I just read about this movie showing in limited release. It's opening here in Kansas City on April 17th, but is probably already showing in other places. Pretty decent reviews!

Here's the synopsis.. sounds interesting at least!

"In Sweden in the early 1900's - in a time of social change and unrest, of war and poverty – the young working class women Maria wins a camera in a lottery, and decides to keep it – a decision which alters her whole life. The camera enables Maria to see the world through new eyes, but it also becomes a threat to her alcoholic womanizer of a husband, as it brings a charming photographer into her life. The film is based on a true story"

The "Monster" is a Studio camera. Its similar to one I'm currently restoring - Ansco 8X10 Studio. Besides portrait studios, the camera was also used by newspaper PhotoJournalist departments.

I'm looking for the movie to come to Portland Metro area. I'm very curious about it. Sounds like a interesting film.
