While visiting Bushwalking Tasmania's website, I chanced upon their Photograph of the Year portal. The images are representative of Tasmania's World Heritage area deep in the South West.

Maybe enough to cause a stampede to the Apple Isle! :p

Love Tasmania. My three trips down there were nowhere near long enough.

Certainly one of the more photographic place going around for those prepared to put up with the rather unpredictable weather, but then that what makes it so great.

My absolute favourite photo on that forum is the sunset hues over Cox Bight (the nearest curve of beach below the view). A similar but greatly more refined view was famously immortalised by Tasmanian photographer Peter Dombrovskis in 1990 (using a Linhof Master Technika). It is a fairly solid effort to get up to this viewpoint (high above the beach where Cessna planes land in summer to pick up and drop off bushwalkers walking the South West Track). I reckon this photo will carry off an award for the number of votes alone!
