There's a print shop nearby that is selling all their equipment including one of these plate burners. The guy says he bought it used about 5 years ago and it works fine. He also mentioned that they are just trying to get whatever they can from the sales and to make him an offer.

What's the range I should be considering for these? $200-$500 maybe?

Thanks,

Alan.

$200-500 seems reasonable... but hell... offer $50 just to see if he bites. Sometimes they are just glad to find someone to haul these heavy pieces away.

I need to find one of these in the central Texas area ... :)

I paid $250 for mine a couple of years ago. Working condition, but needed a good cleaning and a new bulb.

I just bought an Argraph for $200. But I knew who I was buying it from, and he was willing to stand behind it in the short term, so I was happy to pay for it.

Thanks for the help. I paid $200 and he threw in some darkroom trays and an old process lens.

He also has a large light table I'm seriously thinking about...It's a slippery slope.

I would imagine they are in Europe like the U.S. Check local printing shops and if they have them see if they're still using them. Search APUG for more discussions about them. I got a lot of info that way.
