customizing a polaroid 110b

Hey folks,

Just got this baby here,
and i'll like to repaint the top and re-leather it.

does anyone know if removing the top casing will affect the rangefinder alignment? I have no experience with these things. :(

Nah!
The top is just basically something to keep dust out. If I remember right the screws are in the film compartment.
