The documentary on Nobuyoshi Araki, (http://www.arakinobuyoshi.com/) ARAKIMENTARI, (http://www.arakimentari.com/) is part of the San Jose International Film Festival.
It will be showing TONIGHT (Saturday) and TUESDAY NIGHT ONLY at the Camera 3 Cinema in San Jose. I'm going Tuesday.

I liked it -- some aspects of Araki missing, and suprisingly zero mention about the fact that there was a feature biographical drama film made about he and his late wife. I think they had limited time with him and got a lot more material than they could pack into the time they had, so it's still a win :)
I made a couple of notes: http://www.botzilla.com/blog/archives/000296.html

Is this or the film you mentioned available on DVD anywhere that you know of? I'm a definite Araki devotee and am always trying to get as much of his material as I can.

Arakimetari is a NEW release.
The other DVD, "Tokyo Biyori" about Yoko, is a Japanese release, already on DVD over there.

Cool...I checked out the Arakimentari site and the trailer is awesome. Gotta see the real thing once I have the means. I'll have my friend in Tokyo see if she can find the DVD of the other one for me. Times like this it's great to have a region-free DVD player...
