Looking for a beginner lens...

How do you all feel about the Symmar 5.6/300.
I found one for cheap, with the p-numatic shutter.

I'm looking for a beginner lens for my Kodak 8x10.

Thoughts?

Nothin' wrong with a symmar! Does it have all it's elements? Is the shutter working properly?

It is one monster piece of glass. I have one. Like it a lot.
