Can anyone advise me on where I can get hold of a zone scale sticker (or template) for an ANALOG Pentax Spotmeter V, please?
Somebody suggested I try Ralph Lambrecht's website but I could only find the digi Pentax version there.
Many thanks,
Richard

I'm not sure of the analog but I have a couple of the digitals that I got from Calumet a number of years ago that had been Zone VI modified and came with the stickers. Try contacting them, they may be able to steer you in the right direction.

You did ask me a while ago and send the picture below. I have another request for it and finally got some time, but since I don't own one myself, I need a picture to scale of the dial. If anyone can put the meter on a scanner and send me the file, I'll do one.
Just send it to info@darkroomagic.com and I'll post it when done.

Very generous of you.

Sticky labels, an X-Acto knife, and a writing utensil should do the trick quite nicely...or just plain paper and tape.

I think we are talking about filling the sticky label with something meaningful first. Do you have one of these meters?

You fill it with something meaningful using the writing utensil.
I have the Digital version, and used the Vs and 1/21s for years before getting it.
Did you ask because you wanted me to scan it for you, or because you were really trying to say something else?
If the former, I can likely procure one to scan if needed (I know where there is a stash of about 25 of them in various states of disrepair), but someone else will probably get it to you first with one that they have on hand in their home.

I'd like a scan of the analog dial to scale.

For my use I measured the dial and drew it up with my CAD.
That´s what it looks like, nothing fancy but it does the job.
I attach a PDF-file as well is someone wants to use it. Just
make sure, that if you print it on that sticky paper, that you don´t scale it.

I made an image with shading for the Pentax V meter a couple years ago. I think I saved it on the computer at work and will look for it and post the file if I still have it. IIRC, I also made one for a Soligor Spot Sensor II. I'll try to find that one as well.

With your help and others in this thread, I was able to create one. You'll find it at:

Select 'Library' from the menu and scroll down to the Pentax Spotmater V sticker. Since I don't own one, I'd like to know if it fits. Thanks.

Looks great Ralph, it lays perfect over my original.

Your original was a big help. I added the notch for easier alignment with the arrow on the dial. Also, the gray scale, printed on a laser printer seems more realistic than the Zone VI scale. In reality there is little difference between Zone II and I. Highlighting Zone III and VII helps visualization.

Thanks to you both, Ralph and noumin. My zone dial is pretty much in tatters.

A million thanks. I've got a Weston Master V that has the zone scale built in, but when using my spot meter I've been doing the zone shift in my head, which evidently has extremely limited capacity since I screw it up all the time.

Ralph,
The Pentax V zone scale did not open up for me, it loads a blank white page, same for the digital meter. Not sure if it's a problem at my end or what. I've not any trouble opening other pdf's, IDK.

I changed the name of both files. Please refresh your browser or reload the page.

Ralph,
I'm very grateful for your kind and prompt response to my enquiry - and indeed, to all those who made a contribution.
The net result is excellent and I'm sure, will prove invaluable to many.
