So, I goes out to Mom and Dad's to help out with some things. My mother asks if I would like my birthday gift on Sunday when the family throws me a party, tomorrow on my birthday, or now. Ummmmm. Duh.

Brand new Assia APGL3 tripod. Rugged heavy duty. Indy leg movement. Quick release tilt pan 3-axis head. And keeps the B&J tighter'n a drum. Gonna have to try it out. Not tomorrow, though. Co-worker's transparent wife asked if I would be at work tomorrow. When asked why, she said that I didn't need a reason. I think they're all gonna bring me bags of dirt or something.

Happy birthday. I went past 40 few years ago and didn't get a tripod. Booo!

How thoughtful! You can use the bags of dirt to weight down your new tripod!

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday, Chris.
Brace yourself for the over the hill jokes. The only thing I can't understand is how one gets to be over the hill when you don't remember being on top of it. O, yeah, forgetfulness is one of the three signs of getting older. And, uh, I forget the other two.....

For what it's worth, I've found it's not the years. It's the mileage. Thanks, guys.

At 45 I'm feeling very old now. Especially as someone posted some pictures on Facebook yesterday of myself and many friends from around 1981-1983 whilst we were at school.

Happy Birthday Chris.
I've been "about 40" for some time now. Getting old has it's downsides, but it beats the alternatives.

What a shameless plug for birthday presents. Happy birthday--thats all you are going to get from me, unless of course, you were gonna get me something for my b'day(a new tripod like yours would be nice). Anyway, have a great day and eat an extra piece of cake for me(Lord knows, I dont need it myself)and dont set the house on fire with all those candles.

I wish I was turning 40! I'll be 56 in February. It's better to get bags of dirt than being a dirt bag!:D:D:D

Another year and a bit to go for me...I feel quite relaxed about it.;) As a keen MTBer everything really will go downhill after 40!:D

...Getting old has it's downsides, but it beats the alternatives.I'm only aware of one alternative. What are the others? :)

Ha, your birthday is the same as mine. But, I'm way past 40 now.
I don't want to steal your birthday wishes, just thought it was cool to have the same say.

So, Happy Birthday to you and me.

Happy Birthday to you as well.

Funny, I don't feel a day over forty. That comes tomorrow.
