Hi all,

Picked up a tidy looking black canonet QL17 from Wolves camera fair.

Externally its good, the rangefinder seems ok, just waiting for a PX625A to turn up to test the electronics.

The shutter, however, isn't in a good state. It moves a bit when you press the release, but never completely opens. Providing the electronics are in a good shape, i think I'll get it CLA'ed (The 40mm lens should suit me, and if it doesn't I should be able to make a couple of quid ebaying a CLA'ed example, especially in black)

Can't see to find anybody that specialises in CLAs for this sort of camera. Any UK based suggestions?

I had my Olympus 35RC CLA'd and the aperture blades looked at by PJ Camera Repairs, turnaround was 3 weeks, cost £34.00.

Ta. 34 quid seems good to me.

I tried Colchester Camera Repair Service from the camera repair thread, but they say they can't get spares so won't attempt. Fair enough i guess.

Waiting for newton elis to get back to me as well, but if these guys have had success with rangefinders before, and are suitably cheap, then I'm inclined to go with them

A zinc air battery is probably a better and cheaper battery to use.
