Does anyone know of such an animal? Is there a single list of lens and shutter flange sizes for all or most vintages/makes/models?

No one?? Maybe someone has a list of a multitude of places I can research? I must have 20-30 flanges that I don't know what they fit. It would be really nice to advertise them as fitting a specific need so I can get a decent/fair/reasonable price for each one. I REALLY need the cash right now.

Anyone know of where to find flange data on vintage lenses/shutters. I can measure these to provide diameter and thread pitch but it would be MUCH better to advertising them as fitting specific lenses/shutters. Otherwise these are worth practically nothing.

from Ilex catalog:
#1 = 1.327" x 40 tpi
#3 = 1.913" x 40
#4 = 2.500" x 30
#5 = 3.232" x 30

Kodak and B&L had their own thread sizes, usually the same.
Wollensak had their own thread sizes.
Ilex for Kodak had Kodak threads.
Shutters and barrels usually had the same sizes BUT not always.

European are all over the map, German, French and English are all separate.

Have fun with it, it's all PROPRIETARY.

The problem with such a table given that many are essentially unique, and they were both metric, English, and who knows, probably even Whitworth, so communicating a need based on a table has its problems:

"Mike, I need a flange with a 1.726" diameter and a 43 pitch. Do you have one?"

If your answer is "I don't have the slightest idea", that's probably everyone else's answer too!

Yeah... it would be a large complicated list for sure. I was just hoping.

I can measure the diameter and pitch of each ring I have and list them for sale with only this information. But, just as you said, most people won't know the size or thread pitch of the flange(s) they need. They'll ask for one to fit a specific lens or shutter. The people in the latter group will pay more money for a flange designated to fit lens "A" or shutter "B" because they probably don't know how to nor want to measure their own threads.

Maybe I'm just being silly but I'd like to get fair/reasonable prices for these because I really need to raise cash.

You're not being silly - impractical maybe!

Many people won't have the proper tools to measure, so they can't very well identify what flange they need. Even buying by barrel/shutter would assume that flanges stayed constant across the run, which they well may not have.

If you want a bunch 'o cheap flanges, probably the best idea is to pick up a small lathe at Harbor Freight and make your own. You could do lenscaps too. Believe me I'm tempted.

the Ilex measurements are to the OD of the male thread at the back of the shutter NOT the ID of the flange threads. I have a boatload of Wollensak flanges and will try to find time to measure them and post the sizes.

Thanks, Steve, but I'm really not worth much these days so putting a lathe in my hands would likely result in a disaster. I just want to get fair prices for all the stuff I have so I can save enough money to buy a little house in the country within a year or so. I've lost my home to foreclosure and I want to pay cash for a nearly 100 percent self-sustained place within a year or so. I want to cut my monthly expenses down to nearly zero with no lousy mortgage. This way I can spend some money on photography, travel to some very photogenic places, and invest the rest so I can retire early enough to enjoy life a little bit before I die. I've heard rumors they may increase retirement eligibility age to 80!! I'll be long gone before then. :)

Wollensak Alphax, Betax and barrel flange ID:
#5 = 3.085" X 30 TPI
#4 = 2.575" X 30
#3 = 2.205" X 30
#2 = 1.300" X 40

Rapax shutter are different, so are barrels. It's too nice out do now, I'll check them latter.
