Conversation with Photographers: Clay Harmon - Project Basho (Philadelphia)

Project Basho will be hosting an informal discussion (http://www.projectbasho.org/lectures/#Lecture_Series) with photographer Clay Harmon (http://www.clayharmon.com/) on Friday, February 26th at 7:00pm. Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for Friends of Project Basho.

Harmon is a Houston-based photographer who specializes in platinum-palladium, gum-palladium, and photogravure printing from digital negatives. Through the combined use of large format cameras, toy cameras with crude lenses, historical printing processes, and refined digital processing, Harmon explores the ways in which the photographic medium distorts and captures the world around us.

He will also be teaching a workshop the same weekend on Creating Digital Negatives (http://www.projectbasho.org/workshops/2010spring/digital-negatives.html).

I wish I could be there. Gonna be hitting the doctors in Wilmington, DE with the family. Wouldn't subject them to it, though. Would bore the socks off of them. I would love it. But alas . . .

Clay is not only ridiculously smart, he's also hilarious!Yay on both counts. You're not going to meet anyone with a better working knowledge of this and other processes. Clay is the man and I wouldn't miss this if anywhere near.

And as Jeremy says, you might split a gut laughing if you get him going. :D
