Hi Guys- I am near New Bedford but I am looking for a place that may be giving a darkroom class or workshop or someone that I could work with somewhere to help improve my printing skills. I don't mind traveling to a place in Boston or Providence or something like that. Thanks!

There is a workshop coming up at Vermont Center for Photography in Brattleboro. But that would be quite a trip for you.

Perhaps Woodstock, NY is not too far? In the past the Center for Photography at Woodstock has hosted B/W printing workshops (A weekend one with Chuck Kelton in 2009, for example), don't know about 2010. Project Basho is hosting a workshop of his this spring, but I suppose Philly is outside your travel area...

Rhode Island School of Design may have a darkroom class in their continuing ed section. I checked the Danforth Museum in Framingham, Ma and it looks like they have open darkroom, but no classes. It might be worth a phone call to them in case they're looking for demand.

I'm in the process of building a big darkroom, and part of my intent is to teach one on one b/w printing or small group workshops. The darkroom is not up and running just yet, but will be this spring. When I'm ready, I'll post it here. I'm near Concord, MA.

Check out the College of Visual and Performing arts at UMass. The photography courses are part of the design department, and it looks like they have ways to enroll through continuing ed programs.

Hi,
The Worcester Center for Crafts in Worcester (MA) offers classes in wet darkroom. I am a bit biased since I teach the classes but they are the best in central MA open to the public.

You should definitely get in touch with Bill Lapete - if you haven't already. He's an execeptional technician and his lab is set up with the best of everything - it's how I got started, and if I lived closer, I'd be using his darkroom. Thanks Bill.
