Polachrome in D76

Would one be able to process Polachrome in d76. Assuming it's an additive film, it just needs black and white processing right? D76, bleach, d76 or something like that? Maybe D19...

In principle you could employ a b&w reversal process.

BUT

-) there is a releasing layer between the halide layer and the base/screen/receiving layer complex
-) the dyes have to stay unharmed
-) the negative is designed for that DTR process

Is it possible to remix the developing goo that comes in the cartridge if the old one has dried up?

I have processed polachrome in D-76 heat the dev up and extend the process time. I did this hoping to produce a polachrome neg rather than positive but to my surprise the result was a polachrome positive just like i would expect from using the polachrome processor of course the film backing needed to e very gently washed off and after some experimentation i have come to realize a stronger more contrasty developer yields a far better result. but play around it is more than possible

I tried it in Rodinal 1:50 for 15 minutes at 75 degrees with agitation every 60 seconds for 10 seconds and the negative fell off leaving nothing :( I guess I'll revert to normal processing methods next roll. Did you do stand development? Did rodinal just cause the negative to fall off?

are you talking the black coating? if so that is meant to come off.

try a pre- wet in water about 70-73º F

mix it with 6 tablespoons of instant coffee
1tbs of washing soda, 4 tsp of powdered vit C and 500CC of water.
i usually put water in a beaker first .. then do it in the order i wrote it.
it will probably foam .. this is GOOD .. stir it and then add about 200cc of dektol - straight.

put your film in it and let it stand for 25-30 mins don't agitate at all.

wash in warm running water ( 70ºF ) for 2 mins or so, then fix ...

it will probably not be as good as the pod that came with the film to begin with,
but is is a good developer, and can be contrasty if warm.

it came off in the developer leaving no image.

The black coating is a type of remjet like motion picture uses (not the emulsion). If there isn't an image it isn't because the black coating came off the back!
